Earlier in the month a huge delivery of Moda made our day. It included Kindred Spirits - a very special collection of quilting cottons and sewing patterns, by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.
Kindred Spirits is especially close to our hearts, with proceeds from this collection being donated by Moda to Cancer Care charities, and by Honeybee Cloths to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Anne of Bunny Hill Designs tells of how "the Kindred Spirit fabric was a joy to design. It’s a celebration of life and a testament to women who have fought Breast Cancer. It’s dedicated to my daughter-in-law Diana, my mother, my sister and to all women who have taken this journey.
As well as lovely Layer cakes, jelly rolls, charms and yardage, it includes petite patterns, which can be made quickly ....
(a whole batch of these gorgeous little pooches, can be made in an afternoon, perfect for making to sell for fundraising.)
and bigger projects too, including this stunning quilt....
(The original quilt, Merci La Vie (French for Thank you for Life) was lovingly hand appliquéed by a special group of women who have had breast cancer, and will be donated to the American Cancer Society. - Anne Sutton)
The pattern for Merci La Vie includes all the applique templates shown - a really lovely project for the winter months.
Incidentally, this Friday 25th September happens to be the World's Biggest Coffee Morning, it's an opportunity to get together over a cuppa and a cake to help raise funds for cancer support.
You can find where your nearest Coffee Morning is being held here
Have a lovely weekend x X
